The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is my favorite game of all time. I still love the Zelda series from Nintendo, but I developed gamer's thumb several years ago and can no longer use a joystick. That's when I found Skyrim and fell in love with it. Skyrim is a role-playing adventure game driven by quests that your character can complete. There are 8 different races on which you can base your character and all have different abilities. You can also choose your character's sex, facial features, hair style, and general build. You can play as a warrior, thief, mage, or combination of those three. You learn to build your skills and there are 15 different skills. You must choose which skills to concentrate on improving for your character.

Fallout 4 is a combination of a first-person-shooter and role-playing game. It takes place in a post-apocalyptic world. Your character learns skills and acquires weapons and materials as the game progresses through decaying cities and wastelands. The acronym S.P.E.C.I.A.L. stands for the following perks which the character can level up during the game: Strength, Perception, Endurance, Charisma, Intelligence, Agility, and Luck. There are black and white training film clips which your character can find and watch during the game. These mimic the old 1950's Civil Defense film clips like Duck and Cover.

Civilization V is a very popular game in which the player competes against the computer and/or several other players to build the most powerful civilization from scratch and dominate the world. Although the game was always interesting, I was unable to win until recently when I did some research on how one could win the game. One starts the game with a Warrior and a Settler. The Settler founds a city, usually at the original spot where the game started. The city is then able to start producing. Production at first is very slow and the first thing produced is usually a Scout. As the game progresses, more cities are founded and more powerful people and weapons are produced. The game can get very complex with what production abilities to research and what people or weapons to produce.
