Alms Games Games to Enjoy

My first game is The Haunted Treasure of Castle Alms. This is a board game I designed for a class project, so I do not consider it complete as yet. I would like to make it an online game. My friends and I have tested it and it is interesting, but needs a few tweaks to make it more enjoyable. Below is the game board.

Haunted Treasure gameboard

There are 64 playable squares on the board. Players roll a six-sided die and starting from either of the bottom two squares in the Gate Room, the player moves a token up, down, right, left, or diagonally the number of squares indicated by the number shown on the die. Originally, each room has a corresponding envelope with the name of the room printed on the envelope. Before the game started, there were sixteen action cards which are shuffled and put in the envelopes. Below is a picture of an action card.

The game is being re-designed so that the player can choose different roles. For example, warrior, mage, dwarf, or elf with combinations available could be chosen as a playable role. The cards would then be replaced by an action sheet like this example:

Room 1
Entering the room, you notice a troll, but the troll does not yet see you. The room is dimly lit with a foul odor permeating every corner.
Looking around, you see a diamond, a ruby necklace, an opal ring, a health potion, a pearl necklace, a sapphire, a treasure chest, a blue topaz gem,
and a magic amulet. A fairy cautiously eyes you from a far corner. A dragon is sleeping across the room from you. A prickly feeling on the back of
your neck warns of something already dead close by. Roll the 20-sided die to determine your fate:

Warrior Level 1
  1. If the diamond is still available on the Master Treasure List, you gain possession of it and catalogue it on your inventory list.
If it is not available, all you found was a worthless duplicate.
  2. The troll is alerted to your presence and captures you. You lose a turn before you can manage to escape.
  3. You may attack another player. Choose wisely, for if you are adventuring as a team and you attack one of your own team, you may not get assistance from your team later. If you are playing alone or against another team, attacking a player with a higher level than your character can have consequences. You may choose to forgo the attack. If the player you are attacking has a higher level than you, subtract the difference in levels from your dice roll. Roll the six-sided dice:
    1. You lose a treasure to the player being attacked.
    2. You lose one health point.
    3. The player being attacked loses one health point.
    4. The player being attacked loses two health points.
    5. The player being attacked gives up one treasure to you.
    6. You get to steal a treasure from the player being attacked.
  4. If the ruby necklace is still available on the Master Treasure List, you gain possession of it and catalogue it on your inventory list. If it is not available, all you found was a worthless duplicate.
  5. If the ruby necklace is still available on the Master Treasure List, you gain possession of it and catalogue it on your inventory list. If it is not available, all you found was a worthless duplicate.
  6. You are paralyzed by fear and accomplish nothing this turn.
  7. If the opal ring is still available on the Master Treasure List, you gain possession of it and catalogue it on your inventory list. If it is not available, all you found was a worthless duplicate.
  8. The fairy restores all your health points.
  9. You are taken over by an unseen curse left in the room and must give up one of your treasures to a player of your choice. If no other player is available, then the treasure goes back to its original room, and it is made available on the Master Treasure List. ...

Master Treasure List

As treasures are found, they are marked as taken on the Master List. If the treasure is lost without another player taking it, the treasure is remarked as available on the Master List. Each player maintains a status of treasures in their possession and their health on a Character sheet shown below. This character sheet is also being revised with roles and levels. As characters level up, the action sheets will also change.

Character Status

There will be four main treasure chests to find in the game. Whenever all four treasure chests have been claimed, the adventure round ends. Whoever has the greatest value of treasure after subtracting value traded for health points wins the adventure round and adds 1 to their level. Teams of up to 4 players can play together and level up 1 for each team member. There will be entities to overcome. Some of these will be under the control of Calistoga. Eventually, the goal will be to defeat Calistoga herself. This will require that you have an advanced level. It will be easier to defeat her as a team, but all members of the team will have to have an advanced level to defeat her.

Villain

The castle is haunted by many creatures. The ultimate goal of this game is to eliminate Enyo Calistoga. Calistoga is a vampiric shape-shifter with immense powers. Some historians suggest that Calistoga is at least two hundred years old, but no one has been able to prove that one way or the other. The vampire may be younger or may be far older.
Due to Calistoga’s shape-shifting abilities, the vampire has a wide variety of forms. However, the most common form is a more classical vampiric appearance – black hair, dark makeup, alabaster skin, and red eyes – with an ethereal, delicate Fae flare.
Presumably, this is to intimidate victims and enemies.
Some report Calistoga to be female, while others report the vampire to be male. Occultists have concluded that this is an effect of Calistoga’s shape-shifting abilities and that it is done to throw off vampire hunters.

Childhood Vampire Attack:
Enyo Calistoga was the middle child of a small merchant family of shape-shifters. They sat comfortably between poor and wealthy and while they couldn’t splurge often, they always had enough to eat. Her parents were caring, and although her father worked often, she made her first priority her family. She had an older brother called Dorian and a younger sister named Farren.
However, the pleasant childhood was abruptly shattered during a new moon when Enyo was five. Late in the middle of the night, when everyone was asleep, her family home was attacked by vampires.
It was not a planned attack or an act of revenge. These vampires were simply so far gone from their blood-lust, that they were little more than savage beasts. The Calistoga family was not their only victim that night, but Enyo was the only survivor.
The attack happened so quickly, the Calistoga monarch could not transform in time to save her children, nor could her husband draw his sword. Awoken by their parents’ screams, Dorian was old enough to shift and attack the vampires as a large black wolf.
He was torn to shreds, and Enyo could do nothing but scream as she watched her siblings be devoured - little Farren screaming from her cradle. Her shape-shifting abilities had not yet awoken.
However, as the rabid vampires turned to her the horror and trauma of this attack triggered her abilities early. Flying into a rage, she transformed into a raging griffin and tore them apart. Although every vampire was slain that night, Enyo did not escape unscathed.
As dawn broke, Enyo screamed and thrashed as the Vampirism fought against her shape-shifting bloodline. For two days, Enyo’s biology battled against the infection, but eventually, the two different natures settled and something new was born - something that would grow to become a legend. (More to come)

Cornhole:
I have other games that I have designed. This one is called Cornhole which is playable but still needs some work.

The Magic Christmas Candy Cane:
This is a nice story game written in Twine. I hope you enjoy a peek at it.

Rogor and the Magic Flute:
This is a role playing game done in Unity a few years ago. The sword animation is non-existent as I was still learning Unity.
